HAPPY BIRTHDAY, THOMSON!
I just can’t say enough about this weekend’s Mega-Festival to celebrate Thomson’s 150th Birthday! If I tried to list the names of everyone who dedicated the last 18 months to pulling this off, I’d run out of space, but you know who you are: Committee Chairs Luanne & Lawrence Bruckenr, Publicity Chair Jan Bristol… the list goes on & on! There have been so many memorable moments, and there are still more events scheduled to close out the year. The Sandburr Classic returns to Thomson this year, and Heirloom Market is bringing back the Fall Festival on September 5! Stay tuned for more info.
The Thomson American Legion did a fantastic job at the beer tent, this weekend. Great job, Terry Lattin & fellow Legion workers – we love our veterans!
I’d also like to thank the Village Public Works department for mowing & preparing the grounds at Curley Park, and the Police Department and emergency responders for working the weekend and providing aid and assistance. A special thanks to Parks & Roads Committee Chair Les Mitchell for pitching in and getting the pumps working again, among the many other big and little things that needed doing!
I love Thomson!
